I don’t understand how people use the For You feed and still stay on Twitter.
My approach to Twitter is the same as every other social media: follow accounts that i’m interested in and browse the Follows feed in chronological order, completely ignoring algo recommendations. So i’m counting on accounts i follow to either post goot stuff or retweet it, which they do. They also retweet crap sometimes, but not nearly as much as i would get in For You.
Your approach to Twitter should be to stop using Twitter. Stop sitting down at a table with Nazis.
Do you live in a red state?
To change your views through osmosis. Eventually some of the idea will settle in.

Yes, I have had the same experience for a few months now. Unfortunately a few communities I’m part of are still bound to that site so I have to sift through it constantly.
Twitter died a few years ago and was replaced by something else, now the skin-suit is starting to rot and peel revealing the beast that assumed its flesh.
Why do I keep getting emails from Biden/Harris/DNC even though I reported their ads as phishing and ultimately blocked them? Yet two weeks since, I continue to receive their ads.
I only use twitter for porn and I almost never get anything else on my feed but when I do it’s usually either cat videos or political content, generally right-wing, but not even once have I seen anything racist there.

i use x(twitter) for calyx Jabber server.
I don’t do ANYTHING on twitter other than occasionally click on a post by a local sports guy when I get a notification. Literally EVERYTHING else in my feed is right wing political non-sense. The extent of my interactions were hitting block early on, and when I realized that did nothing to give their “algorithm” a clue that I wasn’t interested I just started ignoring it entirely.
I have the same issue with Instagram ☹️

It’s actually frustrating. I consume some religious content. I don’t want right wing politics, I just want normal apologetics, funny bible verse images, sermonets, theology, etc. But I feel like the algorithms are like “Oh, you’re Christian? Here’s a bunch of trans/lgbtq/leftists/muslims who want to destroy you!”. I can see past it and see sense. But I know that there are many who cannot.
The left got herded into corners like lemmy. Bots kind of convinced us all to say things like “I just don’t engage them man, like wrestling pigs ya’know” which strategically biased the algorithms to favor engagement which now only comes from right wing users who seem to have endless time to post and share their content and laugh while the left just react to it all with grumblings from the corners of the internet now.
I see the same and it annoys me because my wife gets info from youtube. Even in my own feed I will get crypto and other crap.

Are they blue checks? Because that’s mostly who has blue checks.

The algo assumes you must not be activated yet, and the most profitable way to do that is to make you a raging right winger.
