SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 2 days agoA reliable printer with three good tools would be the solution. The closest to that is still Snapmaker. I have no idea what Bambu was thinking with 1 1/2 heads, but until this industry figures out their shit, I’m not buying a multi tool head printer. I’m waiting on Creality because they promise to take TPU seriously, but they always underdeliver. Looks like number of toolheads is the new multi razor.

Depends on what you want out of your printer. 5 is the minimum for me for multicolor prints. I usually max out my MMU when I’m doing that, and the new color mixing can take advantage of even more.
3 is probably all you need for structural stuff. One PLA, one PETG, one TPU and you can make tons of very unique, useful items. But 5 colors + support + TPU? That’s an amazing amount of flexibility and design options.

I wonder if the design is open, its out of my price range but it looks like it’d be pretty fun to build.
