Yeah you’re not wrong but if you’re a lonely poor man, not only you suffer of poorness and loneliness, but the society says that it’s your fault because you don’t open up to people. Even if you’re very emotionally intelligent, you feel like you’re not enough.
Comment on There Is No Male Loneliness Crisis. What’s Actually Happening Is So Much Darker.
SailorFuzz@lemmy.world 10 hours agoRight, but if they framed it as “poor people are sad and lonely” no one would care. Half the country would be like “well then they should work harder, grab bootstrap, etc”. But phrase it as a mens issue… hey, now thats something to take seriously.

i’m a relatively rich man, and everyone tells me i’m a sad loser for not opening up.
but also when I do open up, I’m a sad loser.
also, why am I whining, I should be making more money and getting richer, if I am content with my level of wealth, I’m not a ‘real man’.

Do you see people taking it seriously and trying to fix it or just blaming men for their own problems and ignoring it?
It seems like a convenient “oh that’s just men being stupid and mean like always, don’t pay attention to the atomization of your society”

I mean, a lot of people, men or women, actively choose to atomize themselves.
