I saw several videos about Prusa INDX recently and decided it would be my first printer. I hope the Prusa version does not get delayed for too long. It has already taken me years to decide where I wanted to start.

As mentioned in another comment, I don’t think it’s delayed, unless you want an assembled one. They’ve sold the first batch of upgrade kits, shipping September, with more upgrade kits coming soon and full Core One+ with INDX coming later (as kits and assembled).
If you’re itching and want to learn more before getting into toolchangers, the Core One (and One+) announced today are a great place to start, and can be upgraded in the future as newer models release.

A reliable printer with three good tools would be the solution. The closest to that is still Snapmaker. I have no idea what Bambu was thinking with 1 1/2 heads, but until this industry figures out their shit, I’m not buying a multi tool head printer. I’m waiting on Creality because they promise to take TPU seriously, but they always underdeliver. Looks like number of toolheads is the new multi razor.

Depends on what you want out of your printer. 5 is the minimum for me for multicolor prints. I usually max out my MMU when I’m doing that, and the new color mixing can take advantage of even more.
3 is probably all you need for structural stuff. One PLA, one PETG, one TPU and you can make tons of very unique, useful items. But 5 colors + support + TPU? That’s an amazing amount of flexibility and design options.

Not delayed AFAIK - just not with “hardened” steel nozzles. They currently have nozzles that are steel and hardened, but not hardened to the level of printing carbon fiber, glass fiber, glow in the dark and other filled materials. ~20HRC vs ~50HRC, where standard brass are ~5HRC.
Personally I’m not doing multicolour and multimaterial with filled materials so not a big deal to me, but it’d be nice to have the option I suppose.
I received my INDX dev kit a few days ago, and I’m currently working through the installation on a Voron 2.4. It’s been a lot of fun so far, hopefully using it goes as well. Can’t speak for the Prusa side of course but knowing them they have better documentation and support.

I have a Prusa and it’s my first 3D printer. It doesn’t seem beta to me at all. I have yet to have a failed print.
Anecdotal, of course. Just saying.
