Didn’t the sea people fail to conquer Egypt, which is famous for it’s humbleness and lack of decadence 😂.

I’m actually starting to think it was ye ol’ corruption and decadence which did them in. The rich hoarded wealth, gave up or banned knowledge and then conveniently found a boogeyman to blame for the unavoidable collapse.
It’s been happening too many times to discount it as a possibility.

That’s because they murdered them all

They all tried but the sea people won, until Egypt

Likely contributed to the lack of adequate defense in so many areas. The sea peoples were just the finger pushing over the dominoes.

My understanding (not a historian, don’t quote me on this) is that one of the big explanations for the collapse was particularly bad famine that affected the entire region. It led rural people to migrate into relatively-more-prosperous cities, often by boat (hence “sea people”), but this migration led to increased strain on city infrastructure, especially since the cities were facing the famine as well.

Nah, the Sea Peoples were actual groups of people, forming legit armies, coming in from the Mediterranean. We even have names.

Sounds reasonable. But it might have been an “eat the rich situation” as well. Just sayin’..
