Yeah we have very different jobs. My job often requires a lot of back and forth. Totally understand wanting to get things in writing though, there are a select few people who I always follow up our phone conversation with an email summary lol

Also, what is so hard about writing what you want? I always tell people to email me and all the email says is ‘call me’. You got as far as opening your email client and typing call me, you can just write the thing you want.

The email summary is just a formalization in case disagreements over what was decided are costly. It’s the efficient middle ground between an email back and forth and a meeting/call.

You can avoid a lot of back and forth with a call. Sometimes something is easier to explain through voice too, especially if sharing your screen helps.
