Yeah we have very different jobs. My job often requires a lot of back and forth. Totally understand wanting to get things in writing though, there are a select few people who I always follow up our phone conversation with an email summary lol

I definitely didn’t take any offense. I also have ADHD and work in a job that involves constant distractions. You don’t need to succumb to social pressure to answer a call unless you think it’s important, you can always call someone back on your schedule. I just know that I get way more accomplished in a 30 second phone call than a 20 minute text exchange

But, like, you get to pick when to answer the call or when to call back. You don’t have to answer when you’re in the middle of something else. But not answering a call because then you’d have to “properly pay attention” is certainly indicative of our times lol

Why’s everyone so averse to a phone call? You can communicate so much more and so much more quickly

The more important issue is trying to reconcile the physics of quantum field theory and general relativity, which today are not compatible. The math behind black holes are a particular bugaboo, and we will have to change something before they can be reconciled
