If you can go about it using substrings, you could probably do:
- " X “
- ” X,“
- ” X.“
- ” x “
- ” x,“
- ” x."
So you cover cases where “X” is uppercase or lowercase, cases where it’s in the middle of a sentence, before a comma, and before a period.

I’m this close to blocking every single thread on lemmy with the letter X in it.
I didn’t come here for endless feed of news about Elon Musk and Twitter. You guys are insane.

Math is crying on the corner…
Also run the risk of missing out on a valuable pirate treasure map.
You may want to use only uppercase as to not filter out anything with x in it. I imagine that would be majority of mentions
Yeah that actually seems to work. Great. Now I just filtered out third of the content here.

Maybe you’re on to something. Maybe the reason for the rebrand was making it harder to block.

Luckily, most articles still mention Twitter because X is such a stupid fucking name. So I bet blocking on the word Twitter would still remove 90%.

If you’re blocking in the article content yes. But your gonna block everything with a “follow us on Twitter” also. Better off just blocking the words Elon and Musk that’ll still get most of them.
