dtrain@lemmy.world 11 months agoThanks for the explanation. I’m desperate to find a cheaper alternative but not to sacrifice my sanity with a solution my wife doesn’t understand. We literally only watch one or two news channels for an hour or so a night. There has to be a better way!

Well in that case I’d recommend trying SlingTV. It’s a lot cheaper than YouTube TV and if all you want is access to cable news channels that should cover it. SlingTV’s app is as straight-forward as any other too so your wife shouldn’t have trouble navigating it. Like I said earlier, they also offer the first month at a 50% discount so even if you don’t like it, you aren’t gonna be on the hook for much.
