TJD@sh.itjust.works 11 months agoWhy would I stand to benefit from giving the government more money, only to recieve a bit back after the government took a cut to process it?

Lmao because the only possible way to have those things is through bloated government spending.
PizzaMan@lemmy.world 11 months ago
I never said the government needs more money to solve these things. It already has plenty of money, it justs wastes it on stupid shit like fossil fuel subsidies, overseas bases, the military, etc.
Chetzemoka@startrek.website 11 months ago
They’re already doing that only at extreme greater expense and far less efficiency in the form of a fractured, absurd system of benefits. Housing, WIC, SNAP, unemployment, disability. End all of it and just give people cash. Far less overhead costs, more people benefit.

Now that I could actually support. Instead of multiple shit welfare programs, condense it into one cash payment.

Or just end all of it

You bought into the propaganda of rugid individualism way too hard. Our society is better when it does something to help those who are in a tough spot.

Because surely the only reason someone could possibly disagree with you is propaganda.
