epicthundercat@lemmy.world 23 hours agoI get that but its more so be being sick of the rich oligarchs owning the primary ways citizens communicate and then making a fake reality and then using that to influence culture, voting, communities ect… Its a huge problem in general. How many Americans use social media and what % of those are on mainstream platforms? Its awful. I am looking at the much greater social impact as well.

I know… I am sorry. I just feel to helpless to really be able to so much and its awful. I contact representatives. I am in a union and actively participate. I protest when I can. I try to educate people but its just so disheartening sometimes and its lonely.

Cool, I’m also in a union but I’m near to being homeless and going hungry. Everyone who wants to save the world seems to ignore the people who are in need right in front of them.
My suggestion for your peace of mind is to improve the lives directly in your community. Educating people is fine (when done face to face), but bringing water and basic medical supplies to protesters is going to help attrition.
Go for the smaller victories over writing paragraphs that people skim over.
