It’s subtle and context matters, but if AI is still changing things with their job then affects is the verb you want. If AI has changed their job and nothing further is happening then effect is the noun you want.

Effects is past tense. Affects is not.

To be exact, there is a noun “affect” whose plural would presumably be “affects”, but it’s a term of art in psychology and absolutely not the word that is wanted here.
