  I’m enjoying the Remake because they’re laying out why it’s the B plot and giving Sephiroth more of a build up than just “oops I murdered your favorite character”

    I feel like the remake is moving it to a C plot, with the small changes and the big new mystery that has time-travel/multiple universe implications.

    Not that I am complaining; I actually like this about it instead of it being the same exact story just told differently.

      Rebirth lays the groundwork for Shinra starting a world war to generate more lifestream material (anguish of war victims) and “replenish the planet” so that they can pump out more Mako, it seems to be going pretty hardcore about Shinra being pure casual evil ultra imperialist capitalist.

      The way you don’t ever seem to do anything with Zack, it feels like that mystery is the real C plot.

      But it’s already a very dense game with a ton of little side quests and surprises. I’m having a great time.

      Wonder if they’ll ever try to do a reinvention like this for six, eight, or nine?
