Comment on Lying can be so complicated
markz@suppo.fi 1 day agoEh. I made a joke, but then someone missed it corrected me (the audacity!). I tried hard to make it more obvious, but somehow complaining about “plot holes” wasn’t enough.
I already died on this hill, but kept pushing my rotten corpse along it, because what’s the harm.

For what it’s worth, I interpreted your original comment as a joke, but then the doubling and tripling down made me think you were serious. Sometimes you should just let the original lol stand alone.

Yeah, I can see how that happens. But in my defense, I don’t think any real person could have gone through this thought process to turn the obvious clues into the most unreasonable conclusion possible.

I think you are underestimating the amount of near braindead people posting shit on the internet. Sometimes a person really is as dumb as you were pretending to be.

yeah and increasingly a lot of us have to deal with people this comedy illiterate in real life, too, who think comedy is when a stand-up says a slur. naivete as a joke in 2025 just… can’t really land right unless you go full @BigMacHole@sopuli.xyz

I mean, plot holes on this meme?
Any chance that in hindsight those people could’ve been joking?

This is why they invented emoticons and emoji. On the Internet, no-one can tell you are smirking unless you tell them

I’m not convinced that a visual equivalent to a laugh track would’ve changed it for the better.
So you’re telling me he slept with a clone? 🤣🤣🤣

The internet is method acting and some of us are in too deep to come out
