IAmNorRealTakeYourMeds@lemmy.world 3 weeks agotbf. recently there was a fad of sketches recreating racism towards clankers. at some point it seemed like an excuse to cosplay racism, it stopped being funny and because creepy. not calling non of those people racist. just that the while vibe was off.

Racism towards clankers? Maybe I’m not up to date on my lingo but aren’t clankers, robots, I.e. not a race? Or am I missing something?

Agree, you cannot be racist towards clankers, or other corporate products.
The issue (painfully minor issue if we can call it that) is that the sketches were basically cosplaying slavery and racism, but instead of black slaves, they are clankers. it was slightly funny the first time, but that joke wore out fast and gets uncomfortable. Not calling anyone who made those sketches racist.
