He’s French, actually.

This is one of the three people that basically invented Deep Learning . One of the others is Geoffrey Hinton, who got the Nobel Prize in 2024

No matter what you think of LeCun or his opinions… he’s damn well worth listening to with attention and respect.

  Nah. Nobody “invented” “deep learning”. The progress of science is independent of any particular mediocre person. This kind of “hero” worship is extremely anti-science. Nowadays this guy is just another mediocre grifter rich bro (regardless of past research that anybody could have done).
