Comment on If Naruto was an American show it would be about a cowboy named Hammy McBurgers
HammyMcBurgers@sh.itjust.works 2 days agoActually I’ve never watched more than two seconds of Naruto and I know about it is from references and skimming the Wikipedia page, so I probably am.

As someone who really enjoyed Naruto as a child; gotcha fam.
Hammy McBurgers is a young bounty-hunter-to-be training in the capital city of his homeland; Hidden Pine Valley. His parents died long ago while protecting their city from one of the nine fierce wild west spirits; the great and terrible Thunder Bird. This spirit was trapped and now resides within the boy, as this was the only way that total catastrophe could be averted. While not a great student all around, Hammy’s connection to Thunder Bird lends itself to a certain devastating “rain of bullets” type technique that splinters his ammunition like thunder branching through the skies. This innate edge along with his hard-headed affect and unstoppable will to survive will carry him a long way through the troubles of his changing world.
There are other great spirits residing in 8 other people including the Jackalope, a cunning and world-wise spirit, the Sasquatch, an unstoppable engine of raw physical strength, the Oofoh, a strange conglomerate of small grey-green blokes with magical knowledge unrivaled, and the Chupa, a deviously wicked and constantly starving entity who keeps its host perpetually exhausted and in a state of constant desperation.
Among Hammy’s classmates, the two he gets to know best early on are Blossom, his one-sided crush who is a dedicated worker with a bit of a sweet-and-sour disposition, and Davey C, who is exactly as snobby, lame and one-dimensional as Sasuke. Him and Hammy end up holding hands at the very end and it’s kind of what the whole plot revolves around in a really, very long-winded way.
A mysterious organization of outlaws known only as El Amanecer (that’s supposed to be the “the dawn” but my Spanish is far from perfect, so I could be mistaken) seem to be quietly trying collecting and manipulating the nine great spirits, and nobody is certain why. Our young hero trains in the arts of brawling, marksmanship, and magic alike, but will his training be enough when Thunder Bird’s name is next on their list?

Shiiiit, that’s basically Wild Arms or possibly Shadow Hearts, good job.

It’s just Naruto lore but with the Japanese flairs swapped for Americana. I did very little work outside of swapping some words around just tbf lol. And I’ve heard of these titles but have never looked into them. Thinking I may change that if this is the sort of flavor they’re offering tho
