I don't think they said people should not be silly. I think they just observed that sometimes people do silly things.

People wear makeup because they want to, because it makes them feel better for various reasons. Let people have their things, especially if they don’t affect you at all.

They can do whatever they want. It’s just a prejudgment. For me, it’s just an instant turn-off like smoking or treating weaker people badly.
And surely, if anyone can do whatever they want, that includes me and my judgment 😁

Unlike your other examples makeup hurts absolutely nobody. It has zero affect on you or anyone else. But sure, it is absolutely within your rights to dislike people wearing makeup.
