If you want relatively inexpensive vanilla extract, buy a few vanilla beans and a bottle of vodka. Cut the beans to split them onen and chuck them beans in the vodka. Forget about it for a year or so and then you’ll have enough vanilla extract for the next decade or three.

  I think I put four or five beans in a 750mm bottle, the more you throw in the faster it goes. The cheapest thing I’ve got to give is time.

    I guesstimating 4 ounces is like 30-50 beans… Do so I can make like 5 liters of vanilla extract?
