No, they didn’t? Like only 1/3 of the states actually “matter” during an election because of the electoral college, and they are all gerrymandered to shit thanks to Republican redistricting efforts and suppressed via ID laws going all the way back to Reagan, if not earlier.
Voters are a convenient scapegoat, but remember, Clinton won the popular vote in 2016. We shouldn’t even have had a first Trump term in an actual representative democracy.

He got the popular vote in 2024. Not against Hillary in 2017. That’s my whole point, this whole situation would not even be happening if the presidential election system in the US wasn’t such a mess.

And my whole point is that if people weren’t stupid as fucking bricks, trump never would’ve gotten 15% of the popular vote either time. Republicans are always going to be straight evil and that’s become more obvious every day, not less. Yet by voters’ actions you’d think that were a secret.
