L3s@lemmy.world 9 months agoWe are not allowing memes to be posted still, just inside this post itself to hopefully avoid removing meme posts. We have had to remove multiple meme posts since the controversy began, hoping to alleviate that.

I do appreciate the effort to contain memes. But, quite frankly, I avoid memes like the plague because 9 out of 10 are not funny or insightful — most just regurgitate the same tired tropes and worn out jokes. I am disappointed to find them here.

I don’t disagree, but easy solution would be not to look at this one post? Anything else as far as memes will be removed if posted

“Here’s an easy solution to your issue” “I fucking hate the problem!” “…yeah? We actually don’t like that problem either, which is why there’s a solution here…”
I’m guessing they expect you to crack down hard, zero tolerance style, and hate that you create a small, contained outlet instead.
