No, just no. I have already blocked dozens of meme communities, don’t spread that garbage here too.

I did. And, again at your request. And, what’s your point?
There are plenty of communities to share memes here, not sure why a “tech news” one needs to support this kind if idiocy.

God damn you hate other people having fun.
fluxion@lemmy.world 1 year ago
There are other communities doing that?! Perhaps you should speak to the admins, lest you accidentally stumble into one of those communities by specifically clicking on them after seeing “memes” in the name.

Agreed. I subscribed here for “technology news and articles”, as per the community description.
Though strictly speaking, business decisions aren’t technology news, even if it’s a software company.

It’s more of a megathread to contain the memes if anything.

We are not allowing memes to be posted still, just inside this post itself to hopefully avoid removing meme posts. We have had to remove multiple meme posts since the controversy began, hoping to alleviate that.

I do appreciate the effort to contain memes. But, quite frankly, I avoid memes like the plague because 9 out of 10 are not funny or insightful — most just regurgitate the same tired tropes and worn out jokes. I am disappointed to find them here.

I don’t disagree, but easy solution would be not to look at this one post? Anything else as far as memes will be removed if posted

“Here’s an easy solution to your issue” “I fucking hate the problem!” “…yeah? We actually don’t like that problem either, which is why there’s a solution here…”
I’m guessing they expect you to crack down hard, zero tolerance style, and hate that you create a small, contained outlet instead.
