TheWeirdestCunt@lemmy.today 2 months ago“Lemmy” can’t ban people, people managing an instance can ban people. And yes it is ok to ban people for breaking the rules of a community or even an instance. If you have a problem with the rules on an instance go and create your own, that’s one of the core reasons Lemmy is federated.

What’s the point a town square if people who speak up are dragged off and isolated in an empty town square by a couple elites denying the general populace of the town square the right to choose what they want to listen to themselves. U would have a claim if lemmy instances where run as democracies but they are not.
