Atom@lemmy.world 1 day agoHe died on the 10th. Zulu/UTC time is breaking my brain a bit, but that would have been 4:27 pm in Utah I think. Still just Minutes after his spokesperson confirmed he was dead

I confirmed he was dead after I saw him take a 30.06 cannon shell to the carotid. Even given my poor assumption that it was a 5.56 or similar, that kinda hit would send shockwaves into his brain. He had no idea anything happened.
There have been people with their throats cuts that held it together and survived. Famously, that GunTuber had a hot round blow up his .50 rifle, shrapnel right into the neck. He plugged it with his finger and his dad raced him to the hospital. But a direct, or close enough, hit to the carotid artery? At 3,000FPS?!
Still wondering what happened in the minutes and hours after the fact. I know paramedics can’t pronounce death, but could he have really made it to the hospital and survived for hours?
