Yes! It was common to get your drinks in a bag in Mexico, especially if they were fresh-squeezed juice or chocolate milk from a street vendor. I’m not sure why it’s Coke in a bag in this one, but it’s not unusual.

Glass bottles have a deposit on them so in a lot of places in Mexico when you buy a soda the vendor will pop it open, pour it into a bag, and keep the bottle to get the deposit back.

Oh, I forgot about that! We usually get the plastic bottles now that Oxxo and 7-Eleven dominate the corner stores. And since I’ve stopped drinking cola altogether, the only bottles with a deposit I get are the caguamas. 😅
