I’m actively working on moving on from Facebook. The amount of false information on the platform is just astounding and when you report the lies, you just get a response saying it doesn’t break any rules. Not even talking politics here, there was deceptive AI post about two too tennis players, that I reported.
Comment on Instagram Caught Hiding Posts That Say "Immigrants Make the Country Great"

Yeah, everyone should stop using Instagram, Facebook, threads, reddit, tik tok. But the FOMO is too strong. It’s too bad, if they did it would fix most of their problems in like a week.

Why is the leftist approach is to platform the opposition while the rights approach is to overwhelm the space until it does what they want?
zeca@lemmy.ml 1 day ago
Which approach do you think requires more money and cooperation from the network management?
Melvin_Ferd@lemmy.world 1 day ago
Neither.
Both sides have money. In fact the left has much more money than the right.
We’re not even talking about big money here. The average right leaning person will give a dollar to any thing they agree with. The left mull over the morality and ethics of a thing until it passes then they say “well I would punch a Nazi if I ever needed to” but they can’t even muster the energy to read a comment they disagree with.
Look at the donations given to random assholes who said something anti vaccination. Millions of donating poured in. Look at that women that yelled racial slurs at kids in a park. Millions.
I saw Jon Stewart posted here the other day and the comments were calling him a fascist.
We’re fucking done.

I think you forgot to say the reason why you think the left has more money than the right.
zeca@lemmy.ml 19 hours ago
I asked which approach requires more money, not who has more. You said the left doesnt want to spend that money, ok. Maybe the mass of liberals collectively has more money, maybe. Not the left though. And the network cooperation part? Which agendas are being priviledged by the recomendation algorithms in social medias?

Those spaces are overrun by bots, so have fun fighting against a never ending army of CPUs that doesn’t sleep. I am going to protect my sanity and not give them my time and energy (which equals their money).

Exactly.
Okay, now do religion.
cannon_annon88@lemmy.today 1 day ago
Everyone should stop going to churches, synagogues, mosques, the church of latter day saints, and scientology. But the FOMO and fear of eternal damnation is too strong. It’s too bad, if they could just realize that everything is god including themselves, they could live happier more fulfilling lives in like a week.

People don’t really go to service for gods? They do it for community.
Rooty@lemmy.world 1 day ago
I stopped going to church because thr community was composed of rank hypocrites and bigots. I can have communal spaces elsewhere.
lemmy_nightmare@sh.itjust.works 1 day ago
100 percent true. After many long years of observation and philosophical debates with myself, this was the logical conclusion I came to.
Most of those who visit th se “holy places” do so for the community and rarely for any actual religious reason.

Wayyy ahead of you.

I’m so far ahead of you I’m actually behind you.
