- Always check the Subscriptions page first
- Check Watch Later list, after that
- scroll the Home page, after that
Have never seen a link to a “Trending” page or a “Trending Now” list in any of those spots.
Comment on YouTube is getting rid of its Trending page and Trending Now list
Joelk111@lemmy.world 3 days agoI’m not sure how you can be so invested in YouTube and not at least be aware of trending. Have I ever looked at it? Not intentionally. Am I aware of it? Yeah.

I have YouTube bookmarked to go directly to subscriptions and I have revanced configured to open directly to subscriptions. I’ve still seen trending as a tab in the sidebar on the website, and accidentally tapped on it back before vanced existed.
All of that said, I did just check and it’s way more difficult to find now. It’s near the bottom of the sidebar in browser, and iirc it used to have its own frustratingly dedicated tab in the mobile app, which it no longer does.

When I open YouTube it gives me an edless feed of recommendations tailored to me. I don’t care what other people are watching. If there’s a tab with the title “trending” I’ve probably just never clicked it. I’m not even tempted to go see.
