Get rid of Shorts.
Shorts are still there, but now they started cluttering the subscription page with community posts.
It’s bad, but especially when you browse in landscape Mode on a phone. They get blown up so big you have to scroll like 3 pages for one post, and there’s a lot of them.
Hell yeah! It’s way too hot even for those.
Use browser plug-ins and revanced.
I’ve installed user scripts to replace the player with the normal one and used unlock to hide the feed in my subscriptions page. Did the same with revanced on my phone.
They’re just designed to be addictive, I wasn’t getting anything out of them.
Shorts (as a format) aren’t the problem, it’s what you watch. If you train the algorithm to serve you garbage, then of course it’s gonna serve you garbage ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I literally never watch shorts. I’ve selected the option to show less shorts on my computer, I select the not interested option on each individual video on my TV when the row of them shows up, and they still constantly come back.
It blows my mind how popular shorts are because I’ve never had an interest in watching them.
Shorts as a format are a problem, infinite scroll is just too addictive and having a format that encourages grabbing your attention in the first milliseconds even more than normal videos drags quality down
Search is unusable because of shorts. Also I want the ability to turn them off.
I keep hiding shorts but it keeps coming back like herpes

Same. I actually truly hate seeing the games pop up, so ugly and generic looking

It’s too hot for that and I don’t think Google should control what people wear.
