This is the correct order. 5-to-2 sets the width of the star, which is important when writing multiple identical stars next to each other.

I was sad that I didn’t learn that until high school. Never drew a star any other way after that. The young woman who taught me I can’t remember, but the star… I’ll always remember haha

You start with a straight line. It literally makes the most sense cause it decides the size of the star as well.
