You are correct.

It has practically doubled actually. People are starving and can’t afford food.
Its not out of control just the controls are nothing the oligarchs want to do.
- Comment on Maybe "CAESAR STABBED IN BACK BY BRUTUS AND CASSIUS" was just a metaphorical clickbait headline, and the actual event was a minor policy dispute instead of a literal assassination. 3 days ago:
I’m picturing the John McCain thumbs down event.
“Oh my god, Even Brutus! What a stab in the back and he just dropped the dagger!”

The photos for these ones in the article and the ones being installed in DC are glass and more like the subway ones and chest height.

Me personally, I’d start kicking and hospital bills means a reason to sue.
- Comment on At this SF grocery store, you can't leave unless you buy something 5 days ago:
Oh for sure this would be unlawful imprisonment and probably break some minor fire codes but who cares about that kind of stuff these days.
There is profit at stake!

Yeah I saw that… The fuck it is not.
Jeeze people trying to argue that Europe is different from america I get but not pretending you get locked in grocery stores to do so. - Comment on At this SF grocery store, you can't leave unless you buy something 5 days ago:
We made it so that there was the least friction to people just buying constantly and freely… Well now we need app operated coupons, face scanning entrances and receipt operated exits with merchandise locked behind plexiglass…
Why are customers so reluctant to buy now?!
- Comment on At this SF grocery store, you can't leave unless you buy something 5 days ago:
Yeah never purchase and you can never leave. Just beg for food from those that want to leave desperately enough. They get their receipt and you get their items.

Or like let me rent it to do heavy housework for the day or something…
Doesn’t have to be Robot Fights™ I guess… - Comment on This future of piloted personal robots is perfect for lazy racists 5 days ago:

LOL yeah, people do whole podcasts and giant episodes about the fascism in Gundam lore.
I think it still works, they just reverse it and hide themselves in the robots just like their hearts

Dude, peole have been using that on 4chan since 2015 or earlier to tell people that they were out of touch with current affairs or the state of the world. Wasn’t aimed like that.
Making up your own history to throw hate is such a boomer thing to do.

Air is leaving your lungs anyways. Doesnt take much effort to add some sounds. You would be surprised how long it feels on the dying side.

I have also been in a lot of accidents and it’s kinda surprising how often it’s just “oh no, not again”
After getting hit by a car one time enough to roll up it and off the side my words were “not the worst day I’ve had” before going to the hospital.

- Comment on Same betting app you can bet on the impacts of climate change, promoting gambling on a collapsing government 3 weeks ago:
It’s wild that this site has full CFTC certification since 2020. Like the only things they were restricted on betting was terrorism, war, and gaming.
Apparently everything else isn’t a conflict to the government if it makes poor people give up their money to the wealthy. - Comment on Same betting app you can bet on the impacts of climate change, promoting gambling on a collapsing government 3 weeks ago:
I would hope the lemmy user base would be capable of telling its users that this is a terrible gambling site.
Plus they already have over 2 million users. It exists without me mentioning its name. The best i can do is call it dumb publicly.

- Comment on So, did a new printer drop? LOL 4 weeks ago:
Its insane that companies can get away with basically not having an in house PR team anymore and dont even have to pay all the ad makers for them. Just give a free product and threaten to never allow them to get another if they say anything bad.
Boom instant commercials at the cost of basically nothing.

Its so old the references go right past them but give them something to look up if they want to feel like they know something others their age dont, and if not you just enjoy the funny scenes and the funny movie that has actual humor instead of “well that just happened” quips.

Ha yeah but profits must only go up so all the casinos would just pivot to something else. Sociopaths would never accept a 10% margin even on that large of a pool of money. Thats restaurant margin territory and you dont see the mafia running many legitimate restaurants for the income.

Gotta get the money from the poors somehow, and someone with skill might win it back if its allowed to be skill based.
