Ahh money. The only thing you need to win.
Agreeing with the people that have the money is just the best way to get more.

I mean that actually was one of the things that made them so great. Tracking, arrival timer and an easy app.
Literally those being things that the taxi companies had to push to replicate is a good thing it’s a shame we had to give up the idea of properly funded labor and job protection to get it.
- Comment on Credit card debt is soaring, especially in these cities 1 week ago:
Honestly. Probably not as big a deal as we would hope. America rubs in debt. It’s the economic battery that’s used to power the purchasing power of the nation itself even if it’s not a great idea it does hyper charge the government of oligarchs pretty well.
And, with massive soars in Cost Of Living I would bet it’s mostly by the same percentages that the debt is raising even if it’s closer to real inflation and not the lower stated values.
People are incentivized to spend beyond their means cause the forever debt feels cheaper than paying for it up front which makes you then a consistent battery of debt paying back more as you hopefully hit peak production.
The problem for sure is that there is no exit on the other side. And with astronomical costs and no clear way to exit the debt likely you end up to old and still fucked.
The debt is a feature not a bug but will absolutely cause instability if not checked. This might still not be truly in the red yet though.

Yeah all the flowers are on the inside of a fig. That’s actually more or less the fruit you eat too, a bunch of sweet flowers compressed in a pod. Figs are super weird.

Dying at work is the end they want for their workers. Especially if there’s a pension.
I see you have also read Boeing’s retirement study and plan.

Honestly I really should just be locked away for everyone and my own safety.
I was one of the original patients that spread swine flu in the US in 2009 after a trip to Mexico. I now have vaccines for everything from yellow fever to typhoid cause I thought I might spread it too.
My stories should probably be in a leather bound book that people argue whether or not it’s allegorical when it says “do not trust the boy who brings back diseased cloth for all his friends”

Hahaha my Japanese instructor in university was not particularly good at his job and when I told him I was planning to drop he told me I should t cause the class would just get easier as it went.
When it was past the drop period he confided in me that he was actually only trained in Chinese but the kanji was about the same so was filling in until the school could find a real Japanese instructor and that he only needed a few more hours for tenure and if I had dropped he wouldn’t have had enough students in the class for the hours to count…
I think Universities are broken just from the level of economic and social stress making people just be less involved in their work and more in themselves.
It’s easier to keep the mill grinding than to stop and make sure it’s working properly.

I once got caught up in a game of dodge the cactus that I mistakenlu thought was “catch” the cactus and proceeded to try to figure out how to get the needles out of both of my hands face and mouth.
I decided on sprite for the ones in my mouth by gargling it.
I once also made homemade root beer let it ferment to long so it was alcoholic and got a bunch of other kids drunk at school. This barely scratches the surface, and doesn’t include the forest fires or all the times hit by trains and boats.
Anyways, yeah a recap of my life would be a wild watch. If you really do have your life flash before your eyes at the end I am gonna need some popcorn for this feature film.

Yeah and told to finish the test. I also had a professor who let me take a final while bleeding after I was hit by a car on my bike on the way to class.
Both times I did not do particularly well.
I honestly think modern professors just don’t care anymore, or expect 19 year olds to be way more mature and competent than they are.My life was, and is, a train wreck.

Nah don’t worry I had listeria 3 times and milk was only one of them. You got to worry about caramel apples and hummus just as much.
Also don’t get listeria I had a seizure while vomiting while taking a physics final and got yelled at for it in college. It’s just not a fun time.

Society is made of the stories we tell ourselves.
Our stories have been pretty bad lately and selling fear and power fantasy still works as well as it always did.
I know it feels like bullshit and we all just say that people should just know and act better but they don’t and they won’t. They operate on what they think in their head is right.
I dunno. Maybe we need less stories maybe we need to tell better ones to inspire better. Maybe we do just need to BE better. I don’t see it happening. We love the bad just way to much. Far more interesting.
- Comment on The Verge shows how Google search is useless 1 month ago:
I honestly think it will have to be semi curated and look a lot like a more complex digital version of an encyclopedia.
I mean I think the stupid LLM craze is from trying to make something like that in the vain of the “Hitchhikers Guide” but without having to do the actual work and using autogenerated articles except that makes them prone to being false. The Hitchhikers Guide still had writers and people entering and double checking information.
It can then further link you to related stuff from the web but the wide spread of information is somewhat dead since it’s now the product to be sold and free and easy sharing of it would ruin profit margins.

I dunno accepting death as an inevitability seems important since since we otherwise struggle hard to ignore it in western culture and by extension can create a lot of suffering.

Society is in love with new clinical terms that help detach emotion for the people using them.
And when people ask for help without using the new terms they can be marked as incorrect more easily and ignored.

Man the modern hoovervilles are much more disjointed. Mostly tents and reliant on existing structures. This is that old school impressive setup, but I wonder if the police have just gotten better at deconstructing them faster and we will see a follow up of this being taken down within days.

Did you know you can store smoked salmon at room temp pretty much indefinitely in an unopened package?
Food storage has gotten really good, all the tricks of smoke, sugar or salt of our ancestors with now radiation sterilization and other cool tricks with science.
All that to say. It’s probably fine. You just bought it and I’m sure this was made to last as long as it can as reliably as it can so that they don’t lose money. Most best buy dates are just made up anyways and not based on much. Check for gas build up, a weird odor, extreme discoloration, or foreign objects or growths. That will get you through pretty much every rotten food type without having to taste it.
That’s said, where are you shopping that has a mixture of Japanese, Chinese, French, and robot codes?

Meh, I want to leave nothing behind. Live like I die, and no one is allowed in on it. A death just for me.
I want to leave no mark. May my flesh rot and become the earth, may my bones crumble to dust and become fertilizer, may my grave be unmarked and unknown except for the plants that feed upon me.
Legacy is for the ego and mine doesn’t exist. The world is a mess and it doesn’t need me tugging futilely on the wisps of strings I can barely reach, hoping to unravel a knot that others keep tying.
I’m glad you found joy, I am tired of people, and have nothing left to share.

So you just scroll.
I get it from a job that snipes me out of fun moments that’s 24/7 breathing down my back. Oh what you give up to stay alive.
But I also just do the fun stuff anyways. Or the stuff I said I would do. Because I agreed with myself to do it. - Comment on Finance guru Dave Ramsey slams 'awful' Gen Zers and millennials who live with their parents: 'They suck. They can't buy a house because they don't work' 2 months ago:
This has been one of my friends suggestions to me, he brags about how he does bullshit jobs and works multiple at the same time and now is a perfect time for me work about 3 jobs at once even though he is a project manager and “software developer” and I am customer support and installation which means I have no time and work 50+ hours a week and am only allowed to bill 40. He makes 360k a year and works like 12 hours a week in total.
My dad recently suggested I hire people in India to do my job and then pocket the extra money and find a new job while they do my work.
I fucking hate modern society.
