“Alert when phone picked up”
Was the name of the setting turned on. In the motion settings.
Still not sure how they could have named that harder to find without writing it in Korean. - Comment on Android updates: thanks I hate it. 4 days ago:
I hate that my music player is now relegated to a tiny nub at the bottom of the lock screen that defaults now to google ads for sports betting unless you turn it off.
Also my phone now randomly vibrates every so often, just gently enough to think it was imagined and I think it’s to drain the battery faster to push people to buy a new phone. But that’s just conspiracy from how garbage the rest of this update has been.

Art requires comviction and purpose and they literally say they were inspired by game items.
If they are keeping their “art” at arms length to avoid making to loud of a statement in it, then I am well within my right to call it lame.
- Comment on Civil disobedience earring/keychain set (requires bread tie) 1 week ago:
Uhh no they say this was from games that have bricks and molotov cocktails in it. Nothing to do with cultural events. Just look at the post.
- Comment on Civil disobedience earring/keychain set (requires bread tie) 1 week ago:
This is so lame.
Wow. Way to stick it to man with your symbolism non-symbolism that’s how people feel but not you.
Like you want to care but not too much that it looks uncool. Action at full arms length so as not to do anything
Your lack of conviction is lame and so is this. - Comment on YSK: Regulations don't exist because governments like them... 2 weeks ago:
Yeah the good times making weak people has gone full swing and people don’t realize how bad it could be.
Weak people who have never been tested with an actual bad time in their life. Just upset if they had even a little restriction.
- Comment on YSK: Regulations don't exist because governments like them... 2 weeks ago:
We didn’t regulate the housing market after 2008 cause the people with money were already getting in the driver seat and wouldn’t have it.

The absolute surplus afforded to us by modern farming and then the waste of so much of it will never cease to piss me off and will likely piss me off more in the future when we lose it to climate change.

Adding more noise does nothing to add insights it just makes it more exhausting to pick a position yourself.
If everything is nuanced then you can more easily give up on caring in a meaningful way because you believe there is no good answer.

I am not kidding as much as that sentence would make it seem.

Yeah the best ones are just taking advantage of our empathetic neurons to initiate a conversation. The terrifying ones then use that opening to inject their own thoughts on others.

Ah. It used to be just someone that would say something so inflammatory or provoking that it would force interaction or responses from the people witnessing it.
Like an obvious joke or quote of an earworm that it creates replies. Or sometimes something rude or just wrong on purpose. Modern bad actors adopting trolling tactics is not necessarily the same thing.
You could say trolls are like onions, they have multiple coatings.

I thought it would be a legitimate niche forum for sharing information. And reddit leaned further into trolling and bad behaviour.
A systems purpose is what it does and this platform has not shown much outside of being a place for fights and self held superiority stroking.
TL; DR I am mostly here for news links and B-Movie-Bananza cause it has some good recommendations. Not to interact or pretend this is more than the sum of its parts.

Yeah reddit and Lemmy are just auxiliary troll communities to the OG forums like 4chan.
Same people. Same shitty behaviour just slightly different topics and levels of trolling.

loyalty
Play time hours not loyalty.
You haven’t made a point
Me literally at my top comment in this chain.
Seems like it more directly supports prioritizing those that play for a living and gets content creators priority to start the paying marketing arm.
I don’t have a money or the means to be considering a multi hundred dollar purchase when I am pushing back my tooth extraction.
You have decided who I am regardless of who I actually am in your head and its an impossible at worst and uphill battle at best that you don’t deserve while treating me so poorly.
Don’t be a jerk.
- Comment on Switch 2 pre-orders will prioritise players with the most Switch playtime 1 month ago:
Because I made my point and you ignored it.
You are still ignoring it and adding things I have not said cause you refuse to accept that you might have misunderstood it.
- Comment on Switch 2 pre-orders will prioritise players with the most Switch playtime 1 month ago:
No I was not I was saying that literally people already have to pay for these consoles. That is uts own barrier.
Having to also pass a threshold of play hours is a secondary barrier and you are being aghressive with your fight against capitalism to act as if it is some shining beacon to base it on loyalty.
I owe you nothing and this is my last response while you aim to bark like this rather than communicate.

You are having a different conversation than I am and it’s not with this topic either.
- Comment on Switch 2 pre-orders will prioritise players with the most Switch playtime 1 month ago:
No. They cost money that’s a very core principle of our system. I’m asking isn’t that enough of am incentive?
Don’t be like that. You are trying to get a response from what you wished to have read and it’s gross.
- Comment on Switch 2 pre-orders will prioritise players with the most Switch playtime 1 month ago:
A willingness to pay would be it own priority I would think
- Comment on Switch 2 pre-orders will prioritise players with the most Switch playtime 1 month ago:
Specifically aiming at people with free time?
Seems like it more directly supports prioritizing those that play for a living and gets content creators priority to start the paying marketing arm. - Comment on Switch 2 pre-orders will prioritise players with the most Switch playtime 1 month ago:
It’s definitely a bit dystopian to prioritize those that have the most time and money rather than just those that want to and have the means to purchase even if it’s a reasonable way to handle a limited resource.
I still don’t know what to do much about the mass scalper parasite that is its own dystopian touch. And steam just checked that you had made a purchase for the first 48 hours of preorders.

Yeah we managed to just put the slave workers behind a further layer of obfuscation. Not just relegated to their own quarters or part of town but to a different city altogether or even continent.
Tech dreams have become about a complete lack of humanity.
