Same, the first moment I saw this gremlin I knew I was gonna have to defend some f-ed up stuff.
I just love these comics. - Comment on new instance, same me🫶 1 week ago:
Ugh. This is still the issue with Lemmy, confusing instances, somewhat random federations, strong cultural differences.
I used to like my instance but now it is done.
Just constantly a mess to be social here.
- Comment on What are your hallmark games? What games have shaped how you view games? 1 week ago:
Spyro the Dragon:
This is basically the pinnacle of game design to me. It is a collect-a-thon of course, but the gems always sparkle no matter how far you are from them so that if you are in line of sight you will know that they are there making it easy to find them.
Far off sections of the map are basically always reachable and rewards you for trying to get there and utilizing uncommon paths through the map.
When you beat the game to 100% it rewards you with extra stuff and a little more game to show it had fun being made as much as you hopefully did playing it.
All with a fun story that wraps it up and doesnt require anything special to jump in. I want to see games that have thoughtful level design and world building while using the game mechanics in fun ways. The fact that you jump into levels directly and the loading screen is akin to you actually flying to the world is all engrossing to the world.
- Comment on Google Search referrals to the web have plummeted, AI links are 'less than 1%' of traffic 1 week ago:
They somehow are giving me absolutely garbage search results that only seem to use a single word from my search terms and most of them feels like ad websites and AI generated first.
It’s not great on DuckDuckGo right now for me.
- Comment on Jensen Huang says gamers are 'completely wrong' about DLSS 5 — Nvidia CEO responds to DLSS 5 backlash 2 weeks ago:
This one uses generative AI to “add details” instead of just adding pixels for more resolution. It can decide what a character “should” look like pushing a more homogeneous design to anyone using this since it will be built in training models of who knows what origin.

This is what I want and can’t seem to find. I’m not good enough at soldering to do it myself and have been instead looking at buying an IR flood light for cameras to just clip on.

I mean you don’t head bang cause you like the brain damage.
People mostly dance to get off emotions. The best ballet is when it is with a feeling behind it. Just watch the Olympics figure skaters during the gala when they get to perform however they want.
I enjoy doing jazz hands. I don’t care if it looks silly.

Now let those feeling out through dance!
Also it is more about connecting with yourself and moving how feels good.

My autism makes me like to dance through the house and have random urges to give jazz hands.

Maybe practice dodging as a dance move first.

Its a truly wild rild and so good. Producer of Akira and Director and writer of Appleseed kinda feels obvious.

Yeah, if you pay attention you will see Okabe gets his every wish. So that when suddenly he has to pick what level of pain he is ok with for payment, it puts him in hell. And since he is a loner and doesnt think of everyone else he doesnt have anyone else to talk to to the point that he doesnt even realize that everyone else is still remembering what he did and that his actions have never been without consequences. And he has to live up to them to undo them.
But yeah wild how the wrapper on a story can make such a difference, I mean this is the same story as Its a wonderful Life and yet the method of telling it makes it completely different and makes a slightly different take on the answer. The author clearly thinks its still ok to be absurd with reality at the end as long as you take it seriously.
By the way I don’t know Maebashi Witches but I do love Studio Sunrise and how they do personal stories, so it will go on the list after I catch up to Frieren.

And I didnt even downvote your original comment because I liked the idea of having a discussion on this because you are not wrong to find the MC grating.
You have your own sonder and I respect that. I appreciate you giving me a place to put my thoughts in this discussion by starting it. And yeah, some of us with our own flavor of life will take different things from it. Its why I think Steins;Gate is great at being art even if it isn’t always easy to watch.

Their hand quivers, and they can feel their legs shake, “Maybe this is the time” they think to themselves, if they can find the courage that is.
Maybe it will end like a meet-cute and the future love their life will get out their car and help them out and pick them up and send them on a glorious adventure.
Or maybe it will just sever their spine and it will be over.
But! The driver will remember them and their face for the rest of their life, their death having given meaning to their existence as the driver will go on to travel the world and have the adventure of a lifetime in response to this random stranger they collided with. Knowing that even if its not personally lived but that the adventure was had by their presence…But their daydreams are snapped out by the sound of a car horn and the engine roaring past.
The moment is gone but the heart still flutters and the adrenaline pumps through their veins, less than the first time they thought about this but enough to still feel the rush of life they don’t live. “There is always the next car,” they think, “maybe, this time I will try yelling at them.”
