Humans, tend to fucking suck. - Comment on Bad UX is keeping the majority of people away from Lemmy 2 weeks ago:

I know when I say something inflammatory the response I will get, but I don’t let it stop me from changing my view, and I intend to converse to further share and understand information.
I’m an asshole, not a hypocrite.

I do like the idea of a map.
We have colonized the Internet it’s probably about time we start making a map for those that follow.

While not necessarily about the upvotes I find the users here are still very much about being _Right_™ or trying to be the most liked and therefore the most conformed to their community.
The updoots may not matter but people for sure act like they do or want them to.

Literally in this thread is another person calling it too left and another calling it too right.
You notice the things you don’t like more. Political ideology is always going to have a spread the problem is the argumentative user base and user self superiority. - Comment on Bad UX is keeping the majority of people away from Lemmy 2 weeks ago:
Then I guess make sure you don’t talk to yourself.

A lot of users here prefer a desktop environment that’s only command line.
Apparently wanting even a GUI puts you in a minority on Lemmy.

Ah Lemmy. Still full of comments from smug assholes pretending their lack of sonder is the good kind, and if they don’t understand something it’s cause it’s worthless and pointless while their knowledge is the most important.
Yeah, there are other reasons than the UX/UI and the screenshot even shows it.

Who is we? Lots of places do communal bath houses. Japan has an entire industry around it. Mass transit is also highly prevalent.
Yes there will always be some level of individual desire to do things or need in some cases but communal projects are useful and common I don’t get the dismissal of that for energy creation something we long ago figured out was better to be done at scale and distributed after.
This is neoliberalism and treating it like it’s the only way to exist. It’s a failure of consideration or imagination. Either way your take is not right for that.

I got an ad recently for me to be able to bet on climate disasters.
We are somehow past accepting it to be real and straight into monetization by the rich while the peasants are still catching up from all the propaganda that it was fake.
Fuck this.

Oh… Dang, I have never heard a climate denier even know about early farming practices in northern Africa to pull that one out and usually I get:
there is no way something as simple as a person or animal could have an impact on something as big as climate!
Wild. I didn’t realize they were changing the cope, I guess I got to catch up on the patch notes.

Oof right?
I’d just love a filament box AMS that also has a dehydrate setting. But them releasing a backwards compatible option would be great. It’s wild how far they have come since competing with flashforge. - Comment on Any recommendations for a low-cost, low-hassle printer? 3 months ago:
I think I would recommend the q1 pro over the x plus 3 since it’s a difference in size by about 2 inches but saves a lot of money for the same components with a few upgrades even for leveling and the processor.
Though I really want the plus 4 but am waiting for the inevitable revisions for that price point.

Fun fact, there are some theories that the Sahara desert was actually caused by over foraging from early goat herding.
So to a degree out ancestors may have already caused some climate change.
- Comment on Petrichor 3 months ago:
It is also that.
Petrichor is the smell of rain and is a term like Channelle #5 where it’s a combination of ozone and geosmin and other compounds.
- Comment on Petrichor 3 months ago:
Well the smell of rain is actually petrichor, it just has a combination of geosmin and ozone and other chemicals that make that smell.
Geosmin on its own is just a part of it.

QIDI tech? I mean there will be minor issues but the printers seem perfectly usable with the flaw mostly being with perfection hopping. It’s a 3D printer and will print those fine and the Q1 pro is $400
Otherwise the P1S which is slightly more expensive and closed but slightly better.
Or you go for a bed slinger and give up on some of the complex filaments without tinkering again.
I will say for bed adhesion you should be getting a bed magnet and a textured PEI sheet which will fix a lot of issues. Even TPU can be printed on it and removed easily enough without the need for glue or release agent past isopropyl alcohol.

You have any tricks for glow filament? I tried to print with it again and just like always it immediately clogged my hotend to a stage where I have to print way slower and I hate to think I have to sacrifice one to this stuff every time.

This feels like a completely different conversation to me just wanting fries deep fried in beef tallow again. And that you can’t find these kind of things easily out there anymore as everyone argues about being healthy.

Yeah but I want the choice without having to cook for myself sometimes.
