Go figure, but the web version of excel should work.

Doesn’t one of the office alternatives do .xlsx? Or at least use the web version of excel?

Yes, I’ve been experimenting with different Linux distros since 2008 and I was pretty skeptical about “Atomic” distros when they first started buzzing around a few years ago.
However, this past year we’ve had to make the jump to Linux due to windows 11 shenanigans. But let me tell you. She’s got Bazzite and I’ve had to distro hop different arch distros.
But let me tell you, I am incredibly jealous of the amount of things that “just work™️” on her setup. Things that I’ve had to track down on obscure forums. Avoiding footguns and landmines.
I used to recommend Ubuntu, then it was Linux Mint, and now, I recommend any Atomic distro that fits your purpose.

There are plenty of movies where the same actor either plays or voices multiple characters. Austin Powers is a good example.

I guess I’m the only one here actively using boost. I like it. Been using it since long before it was a Lemmy client, haha!

I assume it refers to assets and mechanics that actively involve AI. If you’re using Copilot to finish your switch case, I don’t think that would count.

That’s not the point. People fall in love with poorly drawn characters, bad voice acting, and even some times poorly written stories. It’s all about how creative you are. You only rob yourself of the ability to improve or tell an honest story.

The ONLY issue I’ve had like this was related to me having a dual monitor setup.

That’s what I’ve done. I have a windows VM but I don’t even bother spinning it up anymore

I am genuinely interested in helping here, can you list a few titles here?
Also the whole compatibility statistic is a misnomer, not accounting for windows games and applications that are now only supported with Wine and Proton. Windows 11 doesn’t have 100% windows compatibility either.
- Comment on Nearly 90% of Windows Games now run on Linux, latest data shows — as Windows 10 dies, gaming on Linux is more viable than ever 1 month ago:
Yeah but the same happens on windows, often times with no way at all to play the title without a VM

Not from Mastodon, but from looking at the map for September: Map showing 92.09% of traffic coming from Singapore is reported as coming from Windows 7
Here’s a link to the rest of the map You’ll have to mouse over the different countries here, but regardless of whatever the heck is happening in Singapore, windows 7 is still sitting between 15-5% in other countries across Asia. and 10 is still nowhere near the “safe” levels for EoL coming up.

I can confirm Mint, specifically with the Cinnamon Desktop environment. Although I would also recommend Debian with the Cinnamon Desktop. Ubuntu has been making some pretty weird choices
latelyfor a while now. And while Mint has been trying to move it’s upstream straight to Debian, they haven’t done so yet. - Submitted 2 months ago to technology@lemmy.world | 99 comments
