I think the entire concept is just a need to feel special.
If you like certain cultural aspects of a culture that isn’t yours, then just add them to your life. You like dreadlocks but you’re not black? Get dreadlocks, who cares! It’s just that having dreadlocks doesn’t make you black, just like practicing karate doesn’t make you Japanese.
Just saying that you’re black and then talking about how opressed you are sounds like a family guy episode. Just don’t. You’re not black (or white or whatever race you want) and you’re only doing it to get attention

How can your comments not also be aimed at transgender people if you change the wording slightly? I have seen people say that someone who was assigned male at birth cannot be a woman for similar reasons you state about how a person cannot be black if they were assigned white at birth.
