    Ahhhh, it’s not Pride month in New Zealand, because New Zealand doesn’t have a Pride month

    There are Pride events, but no “month”

    This makes me doubt that you’re a Kiwi, making (as I said) your name particularly offensive

      So it is not possible, in your eyes, that someone who lives in the US, a country which celebrates Pride Month, has Maori ancestry? I’d like to see your rationale for such a thing, because this is the first time I’ve seen someone make that implication, unless I’m misunderstanding you.

      Consider how much of the userbase are from countries that celebrate Pride Month on Lemmy and Reddit. On both sites, I’ve seen a scary amount of transphobia aimed at transracial identities lately. It seems very hypocritical to me what during this time there would be so much transphobia coming from people who consider themselves allies.
