  By your logic, would it not be sexist or genderist to use the word transgender? I think transgender identities as just as valid as transracial identities. Both are valid and I’ll stand up for people’s transracial identities.

      There exists a difference between sex and gender identity, but the word “sexism” is still applied, in some instances, in terms of relation to gender. For example, “Barbie is a girl’s toy, boys cannot play with Barbie Dolls. Boys must play with G.I Joe toys only.” Many people would respond with, “But that’s sexist”, even though the terms involve gender and not sex.
