Happy birthday! Here’s to the next year together!
The piefed news is pretty exciting for me. For those of you that don’t dive into the code, I have actually been contributing to piefed for a little while now (my first issue was 7 months ago now); even recently being made a contributor on the codeberg repository. So, if anybody wants to sneak something in like an Erased-themed 404 page or a Haruhi-themed admin page, let me know 😜 /s. I was the one that coded all the spoiler features in piefed, so if you are trying it out and find an issue, please feel free to reach out. I have quite a list of other improvements that I want to work on as well, so great things are on the horizon for piefed I believe.

Thanks so much for that! I don’t care about 95% of the differences between piefed and lemmy, but that 5% is inline spoilers and since having signed up for an account here I’ve discovered I care about that a lot.

It boggles my mind that in-line spoilers are still not a thing in lemmy. The issue on github was raised three years ago! I don’t know a lick of rust, but I do know just enough python to be dangerous, so I decided to just make it happen in piefed.
Actually, when I did it and got it working, I was really hesitant about it and reached out to rimu before making the PR. In-line spoilers just show up as normal text to people from federated lemmy instances, so having in-line spoilers on one piece of software and not the others could be problematic. At the end of the day, we decided that it wasn’t worth waiting on the lemmy devs.
