Comment on What is your best supernatural anime?

I might be the odd man out, but Ghost Stories. Specifically the English dubbed version, because they turned it into a comedy instead of keeping the straight serious tone of the OG.

Truly the best official dub of all time.

I think the show was already canceled in Japan, but the money for the dub was already spent, so they just let them do literally whatever they want as long as they kept the spirit names, the sealing method, and something else the same. Utterly free reign aside from that. It got to the point that whichever VA showed up earliest got to pick the direction the improv went that day.

  Not quite. It was actually successful in Japan but the company that localized it for a NA release was convinced that it would never be successful there without serious modifications. It actually got a much more normal English dub for its release in Singapore.
