Taking shit down when you find out it’s wrong is a thing.

It’s a note for historians. And how they backtracked based on public pressure.
OP should keep the post up.

Willful ignorance can in fact be a tool for historians, so at least that part of the rationalization is true,

It isn’t wrong. They said it wasn’t terrorism at first. That is and will remain a fact and it is the point of the post.

As soon as the FBI got involved, they classified the attack as terroristic. If nothing else, it’s worth expressing that the Louisiana mayor is the one claiming it is not a terrorist attack, not the federal government as is implied.
Thankfully Lemmy let’s you edit your post, and it’s completely in your power to add a text comment to this post explaining what happened.

And when did they say Luigi’s actions were terrorism?
frostysauce@lemmy.world 1 month ago
And it no longer is, so you should delete it.

Did the FBI say initially say it was not terrorism? Yes. Regardless of whether or not they changed their mind later, their initial reaction is and will always be fact. That was the point of the post.

Did the guy happen to be brown or something?
pearsaltchocolatebar@discuss.online 1 month ago
He had a brown name. But apparently he had an isis flag too.

Unconfirmed. It was a black flag hitch cover last I read, and I don’t know of many places selling ISIS pick-up truck accessories.
