So what did you do with them once they were trapped? I imagine lifting that box would be putting your own life at risk, but even if you survived that you now have a feral cat to deal with.
Comment on Is setting a box outside a viable trapping strategy for felines?

When i was 12-ish my dad and i trapped a large number of our feral cats using a bowl of food, a metal milk crate, a stick, a long string, and a healthy love of cartoons.

They went into a burlap sack. My dad had a friend that asked for a single male cat to help with his mouse problem on his farm. My dad handed him a sack of 6 or 7 feral cats and told him to pick one. The sack was opened friend’s arm went into the sack and all of the cats came out like when Pandora opened the box. The friend said I guess I am keeping them all.

I initially thought they were catching multiple cats at once, and that can not go well for the humans. But the brutal honesty is if there are too many cats on a farm, it would be cool if they humanely euthanized them or just neutered all the toms. That is not necessarily how it works.

My mom was always against having our animals fixed. She was also against us having 30+ cats. Still to this day I cannot get her to understand how one affects the other.
