And yet still, PlayStation loyalists will say “never Xbox” even as Sony continues to stab them in their backs.

Just like Android users who say they want to get away from Google, all the while shouting “never Apple” despite Apple claiming to stand for privacy while Google does not hide the fact that they sell your data to the highest bidder.

Some people really are their own worst enemies.

Not that “the other company” is always better. But still, it’s fine to switch sides when the company you’re with does you dirty. I was a PlayStation guy. I’m with Xbox now because Xbox had the All Access programme that let me get an Xbox for $35 a month (with GamePass). Yes I paid like $900 and was locked into GamePass for 2 years, but I was “locked in” at the original price when month-to-month payers were paying twice what I was paying. And I ultimately saved $20 overall. I would have a PS5 if Sony offered the same deal. At times I thought I was going PS6 next gen. Microsoft got my business this generation. I was willing to switch. I also switched to iPhone when Android phones all sucked one year and I needed one because the one I had needed to be factory reset every couple weeks. The carrier told me not to do it, that people stick with one or the other for a reason. I said nah, fuck that, look at my choices and tell me what you’d do. Right, the iPhone. No regrets. If I needed a phone right now, I’d grab a Fairphone 6+. Actually kind of want it, but I don’t need one right now (and can’t afford one right now either).

Don’t be loyal to one camp when the other is doing better. Be willing to switch sides. But not just that. These companies have to know people are willing to switch. That they aren’t locked in. That they have a choice and have the stones to make it.
