- Comment on D-Link refuses to patch yet another security flaw, suggests users just buy new routers — D-Link told users to replace NAS last week 3 days ago:
This is why a number of countries have laws saying spare parts must be made available for a number of years past being sold. Well beyond what the warranty is.
How is this significantly different?

You have to find the shop and pay some gold, but when you equip them you get +2 programming and can be combined with BLÅHAJ for +2 gender euphoria.

- Comment on The Club Penguin Experience got breached. 4 weeks ago:

While it used to be closed source the maintainer a couple years back decided to not make it a job, and open sourced, took down the hosted option, and nowaintains it as a side project open sourced.
- Comment on OpenAI Execs Mass Quit as Company Removes Control From Non-Profit Board and Hands It to Sam Altman 1 month ago:
Because that’s not how LLMs work.
When you form a sentence you start with an intent.
LLMs start with the meaning you gave it, and tries to express something similar to you.
Notice how intent, and meaning aren’t the same. Fact checking has nothing to do with what a word means. So how can it understand what is true?
- Comment on OpenAI Execs Mass Quit as Company Removes Control From Non-Profit Board and Hands It to Sam Altman 1 month ago:
Literally anything that requires knowing facts to inform writing. This is something LLMs are incapable of doing right now.

- Comment on Valve bans Razer and Wooting’s new keyboard features in Counter-Strike 2 2 months ago:
No one in this chain called it a sport that I saw. The root comment was “”professional” gamer”
- Comment on Valve bans Razer and Wooting’s new keyboard features in Counter-Strike 2 2 months ago:
Except the person in question didn’t call gamers athletes but instead professional.
I would also count athlete a subset of professional as well.

NASA also consistently provides new innovation and new science.
What will the dome keep contributing to society for the absurd electricity cost it takes to keep running? Advertisements?
Yeah, there not really the same argument.

Please describe to me how someone who offered up changes to change “he” to “they” for them, and then the contributor getting pissy about “politics” is denying work.

Okay but like, you also realize gas fees for transactions can get stupid expensive right? Banks don’t have variable rates.

That’s what they said about bitcoin, and there’s still nothing useful at any kind of scale outside of scams.
- Comment on Irrational 5 months ago:
That’s not what Planck length is. It’s the minimum resolvable accuracy not measurement. Meaning we can prove something was somewhere specific beyond the Planck length. Not that it’s the building size of the universe.

Being continuous is not actually a requirement of being real.
- Comment on Irrational 5 months ago:
That’s not what I said?
They’re “stable” energy states. That’s all.
- Comment on Irrational 5 months ago:
A real number is the set of both rational and irrational numbers. Nothing about continuous anything.
- Comment on Irrational 5 months ago:
They don’t make “discrete jumps” as in teleportation. They exist stable in discrete energy levels, but that doesn’t imply things don’t move continuously.
- Comment on Irrational 5 months ago:
Mmmmmm don’t know about that.
The Planck length is the minimum resolvable accuracy of the universe. That doesn’t mean it’s a building block like the electron is.
