Ironically, Goblin Slayer returns to the intensity of its first episode basically never again in the show.

True. Though unfortunately Goblin Slayer ends up being uninteresting after season 1. I wouldn’t say it’s bland (because it still has a fair bit of violence), but it just seems to stall out
