- Comment on Fusion360 free Startup option is going away! 11 months ago:
There’s a few permanent license alternatives that I’ve heard recently. I’ve been researching Plasticity and Alibre Atom3D

- Comment on How well do Swedish fish keep past their best by date? 1 year ago:
Swedish fish were the GOAT, but they changed the formula a few years back to save money and the new ones are indeed hot garbage.
- Comment on Does anywhere online, shipping shoes in the USA have European sizes as a legitimate search option? 1 year ago:
Do you really think European sizes are some magic loophole to make things fit better? Spoiler alert: they’re all made in the same factory and just use the conversion chart from Google to convert the size
- Comment on Can anyone tell me what PC will draw more power? 1 year ago:
Why not plug each into a Kill-A-Watt and measure it at idle and under load?
- Comment on How should I go about making an online identity that can't be tracked by advertisers? 1 year ago:
Delete all accounts and start from fresh on a regular and frequent basis. Use VPNs and also change them just as frequently.
Or don’t care about it and just try to be uninteresting to market to, it’s a lot easier

- Comment on How should I handle an ex friend who feels like he needs to bully me to raise his own self esteem? (We're adults) 1 year ago:
“I’m still friends with his brother, so it’s impossible for me to completely block him out from my life unfortunately.”
No, it is possible. If you happen to lose his brother as a friend then that’s an unfortunate consequence.
Life’s too short to have to deal with assholes like that. Not worth your limited time on this planet. Find new friends.
- Comment on Interesting how artists don't make enough money from their creations, so our solution is to make certain information illegal to share, rather than give them a universal basic income. 1 year ago:
There’s nothing about abuse in the comment you replied to. In fact, the act of “protecting small time creators and artists” goes through the legal system, funding it like the commenter said…
- Comment on T-Mobile Walks Back Forced Plan Migration, Won't Make People Switch Plans After All 1 year ago:
“With the ‘plenty of feedback’ the company received following the leak, Sievert said that T-Mobile has learned that this ‘particular test sell isn’t something that our customers are going to love.’”
Who the fuck “loves” paying more for the same service? Why isn’t that painfully obvious? How can I get a job making such braindead decisions for ridiculous amounts of money?
- Comment on Will people respond better if you say you're teetotal, or straight edge? 1 year ago:
I find that adding an “…anymore” adds a lot of baggage that’ll make people drop it and accept your choices

- Comment on How can I become a better conversationalist? 1 year ago:
As I got older I eventually found “my people”. Friends who I click with, who I share values and interests with, who communicate similarly to me.
As someone who struggles like OP, how did you find “your people?”
- Comment on For folks who write for Medium.com, what's your engagement like, and how much do you make? 1 year ago:
I’ve never heard of Medium, so let me get this straight. You’re giving them content AND paying them? That’s like going to work and paying your boss.
If that’s true and you’re struggling to get food at the same time, there are some serious issues going on and you should reconsider what you spend your time and energy on
- Comment on Youtube ads finally got me 1 year ago:
Are you really trying to compare a text/link service with ~10k users to a HD video service with millions of users?
- Comment on Youtube ads finally got me 1 year ago:
How so? Servers aren’t free. Either you pay in cash or you pay in ads.

- Comment on Have you ever had to retake a major course you already passed in order to understand the subject better? 1 year ago:
I came to college with an AP Calc 2 credit, and my counselor suggested I retake it for an “easy GPA boost”
Little did I know the only professor to teach Calc 2 was one of the worst teachers of all time, and everyone frequently got low grades in his class. It put my scholarship into jeopardy, and I had to go a long way up the chain and beg for a whole slew of overrides, to apply my old AP credit and avoid taking the same course with the same professor again.
So yeah, be careful as you might get a shit professor and hurt your GPA. You might be better off just getting study materials or tutoring from a 3rd party so it won’t have a chance to negatively affect your academic standing
- Comment on Exploring the available CAD software 1 year ago:
That’s neat and yeah around the same price point. Looks like it also has parametric functions too. I’ll look more into it too, thank you!
- Comment on Exploring the available CAD software 1 year ago:
I didn’t look too far into it but that might be exactly what I need. I’m more focusing on one-off projects vs mass-produced products so I don’t need a lot of the features of $$$$ CAD suites
- Comment on Exploring the available CAD software 1 year ago:
Thank you very much for the recommendation! I haven’t seen Plasticity yet in any “CAD shootout” comparisons and it looks super interesting.
$100 for a non-subscription commercial license is probably the most appealing part right out the gate.
