- Comment on Bluetooth 6.0 adds centimeter-level accuracy for device tracking — upgraded version also improves device pairing 2 months ago:
I have all kinds of cable extensions specifically to reduce my reliance on BT. Wired bedside headphones and keyboard are the best
- Comment on After seeing Wi-Fi network named “STINKY,” Navy found hidden Starlink dish on US warship 2 months ago:
He’s so weirdly childish.
- Comment on Teacher pay needs to nearly double to afford a typical house 2 months ago:
This is such a trash tier comment and I’m not surprised you just made it and failed to respond to anyone calling you out. Gonna take a wild guess and say you’ve got some deep seated hatred for women and it comes out in weirdo ways like this.
- Comment on Nissan develops paint that keeps cars cool in summer heat 2 months ago:
Just buy a white car AND use a visor, what’s wrong with that?
Nothing’s wrong with that-- why would I assume you’re talking about regular paint when this whole article is specifically about a single type of new paint developed to keep cars cool in heat?
- Comment on Nissan develops paint that keeps cars cool in summer heat 2 months ago:
What’s the cost (financial and environmental) of repainting a car vs using a windshield visor that’s at least twice as effective at reducing heat?
- Comment on Nissan develops paint that keeps cars cool in summer heat 2 months ago:
Windshield screens are the low-tech but far more effective method of keeping a car’s interior cooler, typically by at least 20F when it’s really hot out. Slightly inconvenient but unlike this paint, a windshield screen will actually make a difference.

Sounds like you definitely have your priorities straight and are a mature adult 🙄
- Comment on Indigenous creators are clashing with YouTube’s and Instagram’s sensitive content bans. 2 months ago:
Big media = big reach, compromises made. Fediverse = tiny reach, fewer compromises made. I can see why Indigenous folks choose the former over the latter.

You’re definitely a white guy lol, thanks for the laugh. You really can’t see how being a white guy and having the privilege that comes with that isn’t relevant to a discussion about privacy and security, really? Like come on, I’m a POC but as a man, I also am well aware of how ridiculously privileged I am when it comes to being a little careless about my privacy and security.
- Comment on Lemmy devs are considering making all votes public - have your say 2 months ago:
Can you see how easily one can use that logic to basically be as abusive as they want online and be A-OK with their online account being held accountable as long as it doesn’t actually impact their personal life?
- Comment on Lemmy devs are considering making all votes public - have your say 2 months ago:
You mentioned accountability. Do you believe that only extends to an online profile?
- Comment on Lemmy devs are considering making all votes public - have your say 2 months ago:
Opt in would be far more of a reasonable option .
- Comment on Lemmy devs are considering making all votes public - have your say 2 months ago:
Just curious, are you a man? Specifically, are you a white man? Because pretty much every POC and woman I know is far more privacy/safety conscious than damn near every white guy I’ve met who just lives his life with a ho-hum attitude about privacy/security.
If someone never comments in their regional instance but merely upvotes a post or comment, it’s ridiculous that this info should be made public because it can easily lead to someone getting doxxed. It’s so noble of you that you’re more than happy to stand up for what you think, but I really wonder how folks like you would feel if that involved your home address being targeted.
- Comment on Lemmy devs are considering making all votes public - have your say 2 months ago:
Nice dodging. Here’s hoping you get doxxed someday, I think that would be hilarious.
- Comment on Lemmy devs are considering making all votes public - have your say 2 months ago:
So because it’s hard for you to access but easier for others, it’s not a problem? One user could just publicize the info on a more accessible website.
- Comment on Lemmy devs are considering making all votes public - have your say 2 months ago:
Sure sounds like a lot of victim blaming to me. If someone upvoted a post in their city’s regional instance but never commented, it’s insane to me that a) that vote should be publicly viewable and b) people would blame the user.
- Comment on Lemmy devs are considering making all votes public - have your say 2 months ago:
Most social media is garbage for reasons including that.
- Comment on Lemmy devs are considering making all votes public - have your say 2 months ago:
Accountability, really? Okay, what’s your full legal name and address? If you’re totally fine with your idea of accountability, why not tell us all?
- Comment on Lemmy devs are considering making all votes public - have your say 2 months ago:
I value my privacy more than my exposure to astroturfing. Giving up privacy in exchange for more less astroturfing isn’t a sacrifice I’m willing to make but if you are, go for it I guess.
- Comment on Lemmy devs are considering making all votes public - have your say 2 months ago:
We’re asking for votes to be private. I think your example is ridiculous.
- Comment on Lemmy devs are considering making all votes public - have your say 2 months ago:
Is this meant to be reassuring? Because it really isn’t at all, and it just seems like you’re being dismissive to downplay the issue.
- Comment on Lemmy devs are considering making all votes public - have your say 2 months ago:
That just makes me feel like never up/downvoting anything on Lemmy. I think it’s super creepy that the devs and seemingly most people on Lemmy are A-OK with this.
- Comment on Lemmy devs are considering making all votes public - have your say 2 months ago:
That’s basically how I’d do it. I think it’s super creepy to have voting public and I’m wary of people who insist that transparency involves weirdo shit like this.
- Comment on Lemmy devs are considering making all votes public - have your say 2 months ago:
The fact that the devs even considered this is a bad sign, IMO. How out of touch does one have to be to think this is a good thing in any capacity?

I’ve been too critical of them in the early days and will admit that many of the issues that plagued their VPN service years ago have now been fixed.
- Comment on A millennial couple who make $250,000 say they can't find a home in their budget: 'We refuse to become house-poor' 2 months ago:
I’d venture to say a big chunk of those folks inherited wealth. Most millennial homeowners I know inherited money from grandparents, aunts, uncles, and/or parents.
