All new releases?
This is an ad from Best Buy in 2000. You can see in the next to last picture, Diablo 2 and Microsoft Flight Sim 2000. Both releasing at $49.99.

Jebus Christ this is not what people want. Not every app needs to look the same and have the same IQ decimating, attention span killing features.
- Comment on Apple, Google, and Samsung will accept Matter certification for their own Works With programs 4 weeks ago:
There is only one cert that matters to me, is it open enough to run locally with Home Assistant? If you make a product that can’t be broken by your company going out of business, I’ll give you money. If you try and tie it down to your own proprietary app, I’m out.

Did you meet a mysterious person calling themselves “the doctor” soon after this was painted?
- Comment on just three women have died and 50783 babies have been saved by Texas' abortion law. A damn good trade if you ask me. 2 months ago:
Let me rephrase my previous post so I don’t offend the person calling the preventable deaths of the women “a good trade”.
You are being ignorant if you believe an abortion ban actually prevents all abortions from happening.
You are being ignorant if you think putting doctors in jail for trying to save their patients lives is a sustainable practice. Every time abortion laws regress, medical professionals leave the state and mortality rates increase.
You are being callous to people who maybe you consider to be strangers or worthless people because they sought to have an abortion. But I think you would be singing a different tune if it was your partner, your sister, your mother, who had a miscarriage while the doctors stood by and said, “here take this pill and pray god saves you, because I’m not legally allowed to help you anymore.”
- Comment on just three women have died and 50783 babies have been saved by Texas' abortion law. A damn good trade if you ask me. 2 months ago:
You literally posted a link to a story about a woman who was hoping to see her pregnancy through to the end. This woman didn’t want an abortion but I guarantee you she wanted to live. And here you are celebrating her death. That’s disgusting.
I bet you and I agree on a lot of things and about wanting to see less abortions. I think the answer is pretty easy. Better access to sex education. More access to contraceptives and family planning. And laws that don’t punish doctors for saving the lives of their patients.

Truly disgusting that you think any women doing is acceptable, let alone a “damn good trade”.

Yes, I bought all of the Unreal games. However a lot of people got them bundled with new graphics cards also.

- Comment on Why do phone manufacturers use in-display fingerprint readers instead of fingerprint readers on the power button? 4 months ago:
For a while, there was a patent on it, at least in he US. I remember having to root a Sony phone to enable the fingerprint reader on the power button about 10 years ago.
- Comment on The iPhone 16, new AirPods and other highlights from Apple's product showcase 4 months ago:
I only have marques brown’s comment to back this up, but he said the two stage camera button doesn’t do anything yet but it’s coming in a future update. I’m baffled how Apple feels okay releasing this new hardware without the software to support it.

Two years on Lemmy and 2/3 of this guy’s “hot takes” are that people suck.
If you don’t have anything constructive to add to the conversation then maybe consider just keeping those thoughts to yourself.

Truth. That OA cancellation still hurts though.
- Comment on Why'd they stopped making tv shows as good as x-files? 1 year ago:
I watched Fringe when it came out and loved it but for whatever reason never saw the final season. Last year I finally went back and finished it. I will concede the ending was a bit rushed but also I’m grateful it did get an ending. A lot of great shows get axed and don’t get to wrap up anything. So while not perfect, I’m going to say it was decent enough and does wrap everything up.
It’s a great ride along the way too.

Updoots for Fringe. Season 1 is very monster of the week but it’s laying groundwork for everything that’s coming. It’s a fun ride all the way through and it got a decent conclusion. Watch it if you haven’t already.

I thought the same thing when my Disney+ rate went up a couple months ago and I couldn’t find the email warning about it in my inbox or spam folders.
Why do we let these companies get away with everything? If the rates are going up, show me in the app/ui. Make it opt in. Disable my ability to watch anything until I approve the increase in spend. It should be illegal to just change the terms of a contract and say “I sent you an email.”
- Comment on Professor Layton and the New World of Steam Trailer 1 year ago:
It sure does but the odds of me using it are almost zero since I keep it docked and play on a big TV. Maybe Professor Layton will get me to pull it out but I imagine the puzzles will still be designed around the fact that a lot of people will not be using the touch screen. It’s going to affect the types of puzzles seen.
- Comment on Professor Layton and the New World of Steam Trailer 1 year ago:
It’s going to be a little weird not playing on a touch screen but I’m ready for more layton adventures.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
While it is the second Indiana Jones film, it is a prequel and thus set chronologically before the events of the original “Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark.”

I’m pretty sure that’s how Hulu started. A joint venture through several companies to stream all their shows. Problem is once Disney got in everyone else tried to spin up their own and cash out of Hulu.
It’ll be investing to see what alternatives crop up one piracy makes it’s comeback.
