I don’t think I have ever felt this validated in my entire life, thank you.

I need some juice.

gameplay kind of reminds me of the Division/Division 2, which could be promising - curious to how the space flight works out.
Cautiously optimistic.

Honestly this is exactly like the united states, thats why I used a weighted average tax - the taxes can be different county by county, although usually not by more than 3%…

glad to hear they are so beloved, I think an unpolished full release is a cash grab, as first impressions are important, but we can disagree on that point.

thats good to know, it definitely looks like the worst project they are associated with, I’ll note that its published by.

Interesting that they would bother making the game with that perspective on the financial side, but we can agree to disagree.
I’ll maintain cautious optimism but the video game industry has definitely let me down plenty of times, and companies have ruined their reputation for a mere pittance - does not mean anyone will do it on purpose, just that making video games is difficult.

That is comforting to hear about the studio, the Expanse Dragon’s tooth earned 1.4 million with 12k backers on kick starter, and that was in my opinion with little marketing, seems like enough for a cash grab to me!

I’m hyped because I love the source material, but worried this is just going to be a cash grab from loyal fans… Seeing as the comic books exceeded their funding threshold by a large margin, I could see other industries trying to cash in as well.
Hopefully this is a well thought out quality game, has anyone done any playtesting who wants to talk about it?

I was under the impression Canada included sales tax in their pricing since usually people from the US are mocked for not having tax on their prices, the more you know!

Oh I thought Canada would have it included, interesting!

State+local sales tax at around 7.5% (weighted average) takes it to 480 USD (sales tax in the US can be 0 in a couple states, but is usually much more)

they got too greedy, why would I buy a system with games that expensive? Maybe once the library is full and there are people reselling their used copies for cheaper I’ll jump in, but for now I’m holding the line at 60.

Honestly I’m a little sad, and its stupid… But I wanted to share.
I have never once set… foot? inside the metaverse, but I always envisioned it ending up like the Oasis from Ready Player One (great book).
I think the concept of VR could have such crazy legs if they just get the treadmill/walking situation fully ironed out, and at a reasonable price point.

yeah that comment is kind of tone deaf, appealing to American’s who are clearly under strain and factually fighting a cyber and information civil war, while not even discussing any shared responsibility to create a back up or alternative… Thanks guys.

Yeah I think a government sponsored program could actually draw a lot of votes, I know Ms. Harris briefly touched on this with her 20k for small business start ups, but its kind of off mark from what I was proposing.

Mine definitely does, disables applications and will lock the screen on update demand if you go long enough. At the bottom of the tv says it LG.

Yeh I’m aware of employee owned and co-cooperatively owned companies, but in my experience those are often used as marketing buzzwords.
I think video game development could actually be a space where this could work, but with the saturation of indie and low effort games, a golden opportunity may have already passed.

HA I’ve been so brainwashed by 2025 I see the word smart and stupidly assume AI.
Looks like its just sensors.
I actually think this makes it worse because it doesn’t really bring a whole lot to the table from a STEM-toy perspective, although I guess learning to utilize sensors could be good for some kids if there is any type of granular control.
I grew up with Lego Mindstorms, so it can definitely inspire.

I wish we could band together and create a company not with the motive of profit for shareholders, but with the motive of wages for employees.
What if the goal was to hire and pay as many people as much as possible, all while creating something really neat.
How do we start this?
- Comment on You can’t replace the battery in Lego’s Smart Bricks — and many of its sensors aren’t available yet 2 weeks ago:
wow, so just more trash and waste for the sake of making toys AI integrated…?
I’m all for giving kids the tools of the future early (with limits)
but why do we have to make it disposable? (profit, I know, its rhetorical guys).
