That’s awesome, I hope I’m understanding it enough to think it’s awesome anyways 😂 Thanks for writing that out 💜
- Comment on Why would anyone do this? 2 days ago:
It was fun for me, I met friends and a guy I dated on there. You could search for interests keywords and start a convo about those things. Since I moved around a lot it made it easy to meet new ppl in an area. Lots of ppl just posted pics of them having fun, not trying to actually look hot. Maybe it was my age range (maybe 23-25) and interests and the fact that I used it to find friends, but this site wasn’t toxic for me. I never cared about my score and neither did anyone I talked to from the site.

I’m confused, bc in my armchair reading I’ve thought about why quantum computers try to store information rather than read it from the quantum wave state. Like if everything is connected, if you know about one thing you know about all things. I don’t even know if that makes sense 😂🤷🏻♀️

I got an F on my nephew’s DNA model bc I included the As, Ts, Cs, & Gs and the teacher didn’t know what they were, despite them being listed on the “include” instructions. I was fuming mad, but the kid thought it was funny.
- Comment on If you record yourself talking to someone and then watch the video... it feels very weird... like a bizzare out-of-body experience... 2 weeks ago:
It’s different than that for me. Try using your phone video recorder when reading a page out of a book and see if you can get used to your voice by the end. In my experience, out-of-body experiences are much more natural and don’t trigger the same uncanny valley-type feeling

Yeah, idk if it’s going to train everyone to use /s, or train everyone to calm down and appreciate humor. Hopefully the latter, but ppl do be liking feeling angry on the internet when their actual lives are out of control. Time will tell ig

I’m going to try that, I feel bad spooking my cats
- Comment on Can pets tell who's petting them without looking? 3 weeks ago:
Some cats are just weird like that. I’ve had many cats in my life, but this litter of 4 I got 4 yrs ago, each of them act spooked as hell when I touch them, then they’re like Oh, ok. Makes me feel like a jerk for disturbing them 😂
- Comment on Croutons are just stale, dry bread with good PR. 3 weeks ago:
I don’t eat the crust unless it’s cheese-stuffed, not too brown/crispy, and there’s marinara to dip it in 😂 The cheese and sauce balance any crispies that sneak in that way 😂
I have rules about what recipes I’ll eat potatoes in, too. And no vegetables that squeak when bitten. Autism is so fun 😂

I hate them too. I don’t eat any bread that crunches. Nope.
- Comment on How open are you about yourself to others online in general? 4 weeks ago:
I’m super open with my NDE experience bc ppl actively are looking for ppl who have had them to help with their own existential fears. Otherwise, if I feel I have something valuable to add, or something inane that might make someone laugh, I’ll share it, if not, I don’t post, just upvote (rarely downvote.) I only use Lemmy and Reddit tho, I’ve never felt the urge to write a blog or have followers, so there’s really no reason for me to share personal things. Closest I’ve shared is being raised in an extreme-right religious cult in the 90s, bc that cult grew to take over the US and ppl seem confused sometimes how long it’s been going on. (Since the 70s, it’s called the Dominionism Cult.) But again, it basically comes down to if it’s a personal experience I feel can help others, I’ll share, if not, there’s no real point in commenting or posting. I just woke up lol, sorry if this post is rambling, I can’t rephrase it right now 😂

Yeah, it’s all documented on ancestry thanks to one of my cousins. This makes me very happy 💜

My relatives from Canada are like 6 or more generations back, is that too far?

I don’t hate them, I just can’t play them. I get sucked into the world so completely I lose track of the local rules of physics, like I’ll actually feel smacking into a wall or feel the gravity shift when I move onscreen. Doesn’t happen when I watch shows bc that’s passive. I don’t have any strong feelings about other ppl playing them tho. Ppl can use any hobby to completely ignore irl if they’re so inclined, it’s not just video games

That makes sense. My partner and I just lay in bed to watch on our phones, but at his son’s house they have a TV with a firestick and use that.
