God that sends chills down my spine. I never thought of it that way. I always thought accelrationists were just opportunists, but you may be right in that they aim to have as many people personally harmed by the system so that they might all wake up and form a resistance.

Rechargeable battery chemistry usually can’t exactly match the voltage on the old ones. I’ve seen problems with all sorts of stuff by switching to rechargeable AAs. They typically have only 1.2v compared to 1.5v of a regular AA.
But the rechargeable coin battery mod for the Dreamcast is fine, I modded mine years ago and have had no issues.

Yup I went through that and did the battery holder + rechargeable coin cell at the same time. Works perfectly, great advice.

Yep and if you wear them for too long your body will grow new blood vessels to supply your oxygen-starved eyes with what they need. These new blood vessels can cover your retina and can lead to blindness.
Learned that one by sleeping in daily disposable contacts for a while and losing a significant portion of my peripheral vision.

As amazing as Microcenter is, they're largely a consumer electronics store, not really component level like RadioShack used to be
