- Comment on 16 minutes of HyTale gameplay 1 day ago:
Not trying to be negative, but it kinda just looked like Minecraft with a high res texture pack. Is there any thing substantially different?

No, not nice. Nice is saying nice words. Kind is the action. “ya fackin ass, bathroom is 2 doors on the left!”
- Comment on What's a recent game you've tried playing that isn't worth the hype? 1 week ago:
You and my buddies say that the reaction times aren’t that tight. I must be doing something wrong then because they’re no different than any other reaction game for me: I miss a majority of the.
- Comment on What's a recent game you've tried playing that isn't worth the hype? 1 week ago:
Space marine 2. You shoot things with guns that don’t feel powerful and you die if you don’t have perfect reaction timing to do executes. I’ve never played a game where the world says “oh you’re amazing and powerful!” but then makes you feel incredibly weak. Also, the timing for executes is not fun. It would be nice if they were bonuses but they are necessary to survive because they replenish your health. The gun gameplay is just shooting. No strategy. Boring. I’m going back to hell drivers 2.

I think my taste is probably pretty jaded. I love funky or spicy or intense anything.

It has DOP on it, so I assume it’s legit.

- Comment on Whatever happened to pickup artists? Did they evolve into alpha males or ascend to a higher plane? 2 weeks ago:
Sigh. This is embarrassing to admit. I dipped my toes in those waters for a year or so but decided it wasn’t for me. Those grifters are preying on guys, like me, who struggle in relationships, which I do. I tried out their tactics and found one of two things. 1) it didn’t work at all like expected or 2) it worked like they said but it made me feel like total shit. I gave it up. That’s not the kind of person I wanted to be.
The ends didn’t justify the means, at all. Additionally, the ends weren’t even what I wanted. The end goal for most PUA types is sex with the girl. I do like sex, but not to just get off. Call me sentimental, but I’m after a best friend who I can also have sex with. Negging someone doesn’t make them your best friend. It makes them a pawn to your manipulations.
All that said, in short, I would guess a lot of guys tried it out and realized that they’re not sociopaths like the grifters are and decided that it’s not what they actually wanted.
- Comment on Is it weird to simultaneously feel love and hatred towards parents? 3 weeks ago:
Not weird at all. It’s frustrating, though. I want a father who actually gives a shit instead of the sperm donor I got. I love the idea of a father and the 5% of the time he was decent. I hate the human I got.

Excellent solution.
- Comment on Do you think The Boys is an accurate representation if real people had superpowers? 1 month ago:
One hundred percent. If you liked that show, then you might like the Wildcards series or Aberrant rpg.
Have you ever seen someone poor get a lot of money and they go from being a normal person to a psychopath? Not everyone does, but enough do that you can notice. Being rich is a super power irl. If you’re a billionaire, you can crash a 100k car and just go get another one. A middle class person cannot comprehend having a 100k car.
There’s a reason the phrase “fuck you money” exists.
- Comment on Why do we still joke about setting up old wooden guillotines? 1 month ago:
Exactly. It’s like when people joke “eat the rich”. Zero desire for cannibalism, but 100% desire for the rich to be removed from the earth.

Honestly, some people don’t. Assuming op isn’t trolling, one of my kids is like this.

Did it get better? I loved the music video from a while back. However, I watched ep 1 of the series and it was underwhelming, so I dropped it.

- Comment on For people who relocated: when did you realize you want to live in the new place long-term & why? 2 months ago:
In my experience, there’s an inertia to staying still. You either need a pull from the destination or a push from the source. I didn’t care where we ended up but I couldn’t live where we were. The state government was persecuting one of my kids and failing on maintaining civil services. The destination wasn’t great but it was better than the source and has family nearby. Overall, I don’t regret moving, but I’m not happy. I went from a terrible situation to a not as bad one. Note - I didn’t say this is good.
- Comment on what does it mean being nice to your coworkers to you? 2 months ago:
My main tactic to avoid answering a question is deflection. Either give an absurd answer (most people don’t follow up) or just enough to placate them and move on.
“what did you do this weekend?”
Absurd - “oh, nothing much, just climbed mount everest in a clown suit.”
Just enough - “spent some time in the garden”. (note this must be true bc there may be followups, but it’s boring enough to be dropped)
- Comment on I'm on the spectrum. How do I live the rest of my life? 2 months ago:
Would you change your whole personality just because society dictates you must?
Yes. We do what we must to survive. It’s masking. I am many people. I am one person at work, I play the game of being social. I am another at home with family, I play the game of house member. I am another person with friends, I play the game of a buddy.
You decide if you want to follow the rules and earn their prizes or find another system to exist in. It’s far easier said than done. I chose to follow the rules. You might not.
