- Comment on Universal Studios, Disney sue AI company Midjourney over copyright claims 1 week ago:
Yes, this is a possible way to eliminate OpenAI’s rivals and make AI solely in the hands of corporations. It would only benefit in the short term, but be detrimental in the long term.
Another option is that OpenAI has more power and support from large companies, so such a trial would consume more resources and time than what could happen with Midjourney.

- Comment on Why so much hate toward AI? 1 week ago:
As several have already explained their questions, I will clarify some points.
Not all countries consider AI training using copyrighted material as theft. For example, Japan has allowed AI to be trained with copyrighted material since 2019, and it’s strange because that country is known for its strict laws in that regard.
Also, saying that AI can’t or won’t harm society sells. Although I don’t deny the consequences of this technology. But it will only be effective if AI doesn’t get better, because then it could be counterproductive.

OpenAI reminds me in some ways of Netscape, except that it hasn’t gone public yet, compared to the latter, which did so only 16 months after its founding.

They’re giving OpenAI more leverage to have a strong IPO in the future.

They used ChatGPT 4o, instead of using o1 or o3.
Obviously it was going to fail.

- Comment on AI is rotting your brain and making you stupid 3 weeks ago:
Most of the time technology does not cause a radical change in society except in some cases.
The system eventually adapts to new technology only if that technology can be replicated by anyone, and other problems suddenly appear that the system can’t solve at the same time. It’s just another dark age for humanity, and then it recovers and moves on.

Each winter marks the beginning and end of a generation of AI. We are now seeing more progress and as long as there is no technical limit it seems that its progress will not be interrupted.

But the poor performance is due to TypeScript and later this year they will release a Go compiler that will make it 10 times faster.
- Comment on The Windows Subsystem for Linux is now open source. 4 weeks ago:
It could be another Embrace, Extend, and Extinguish strategy from Microsoft, because if the increase in Linux user share leads to an increase in malware, most of those users aren’t experts.
So there will be an increase in antivirus software for Linux, but that will also lead to DRM in Linux, and Linux may become what I swore to destroy. While BSD distributions, Redox OS, and other systems take over to become the new Linux as it was in its beginnings.

- Comment on OpenAI negotiates with Microsoft to unlock new funding and future IPO 5 weeks ago:
I think it’s because of the hatred for AI, even though it’s just another tool. Because calling it a scam ignores the history it’s had since the 1960s.
AI is software that can improve over time; if it can’t do something now, it will be able to do it in the future.
Excessive hatred of AI will also cause people to stop caring about what happened to climate change. The problem persists, but it’s no longer talked about much.
