Better than ever in base usability as an operating system for the average person. And you can run wsl2 and have a full Linux environment too. It’s as close to a macOS user friendly experience as it has ever been without losing the windows identity.

Kinda joking because in many ways windows is better than ever… but also making windows have non starter features enhances Linux adoption soooo

You can tell China is making strides when suddenly IP laws are a nuisance rather than a fundamental value of the American system lol

He just said there are ways and I mean he could run as vp and then Pres could resign etc. so yeah I mean he can’t “directly” run again.

3.5 years assumes Dems have anyone who could beat him in an election. I have my doubts on that.

I mean they sell to tons of military folks I assume. I know people didn’t sign up for it but the difference between genocide and military operation is purely what side you’re on. Also where do we draw the line? Windows use? Or just ai because of the mass surveillance capabilities? I can’t see that genie going back in the bottle.
Nothing wrong with the protest and good on them for getting the word out because the scale is crazy but we saw this same shit 20 years ago and nobody has the appetite to politically challenge the status quo so far as the intelligence community etc. and scummy use of technology.
- Comment on Mozilla's new open-source Gmail alternative puts your privacy first 4 weeks ago:
Same as proton for the most part. The ai stuff is stupid anyway. Write your own emails or use a real LLM.
Is it encrypted at rest? That’s a big one. Email is insecure in general but that’s the bare minimum.
- Comment on Mozilla Thunderbird Challenges Gmail With Its Own Email Service 4 weeks ago:
This sounds like proton except I haven’t heard a thing about cost or encryption which leads me to believe you will pay with your data and there will be no encryption.
Proton is the bare minimum for email services. Email should be fully redone at its core.

He was obviously very amateur by reading his posts on Reddit. Zen is more of a skin than a real browser, but I guess that’s essentially what a fork is at some point.

As opposed to the teslas with the back doors for the us government… but will be moot when Canada is part of the states anyway

Base privacy rules of federation. The main difference in sign ups seems to be privacy policy. Or some filter on sign up that isn’t choose an instance but a filter that “finds you an instance.”
“Do you want to provide an email address?”
“Do you want x, y, z?”
Filter down to a single instance or if multiple just randomize what instance you toss them to. Just don’t make it a decision. When they are finished signing up send them a note that’s says “you can always change instances by going to _____ link or something to make account or change instances ____”
It’s really not complex but it’s the “feel” of complexity. For instance I froze a bit because some instances had no privacy policy, some said oh yeah we spy on you, some said no email needed just sign up… just get rid of that deer in the headlights moment, or standard privacy rules for federation in the “main” group.
